A journey update and thanks.

I can’t believe it has been so long since the last blog post. One of the things I am discovering, quickly, is just how much time gets eaten-up doing mundane (yet important) things for the business.

It has however been an amazingly positive last few weeks …

In terms of our (small) achievements;

  • we have successfully registered and been granted a trademark for “Prat Perch”,
  • we were accepted on the Warwick Business School entrepreneurs mentor program (spot me in the jumper!)
  • the software and graphics development team are now in place and super busy creating our initial prototypes,
  • we were kindly given “behind-the-scenes” access at a very professional up and coming race team for our first ethnographic study (Thanks for your support and input: Track Focused) and TMCMotorsport.
  • we have started to get to know more of you in the community, and enjoyed answering a number of questions helping people understand more about vehicle dynamics. (Thanks and keep those questions coming, so we can share them for the community).

The next few weeks looks even more busy. One of the lessons taken from this recent period is that it is really important to stay focused, but, equally, stay open minded to the opportunities that present themselves.

We are not looking for investment but it has been so great to get support and interest from people who would consider investing in our vision.

Prat Perch is all about helping people improve their competitive performance. We very much hope that our take on how to do this, born from our professional experience, will be well received.

I have to say, of all the achievements recently, I am most excited about what our crack software products team are pulling together … I wish you could all see it now (!) but it’s starting to look great – no pressure guys :)

Please let me know if these notes are helpful. Any questions start-up, just fire away.

Prat Perch LTD is a start-up based in Warwick, UK. We are building a next-generation platform for easier high performance data analysis and management, specifically for the motor sports market.

The “prat perch” is sometimes referred to by the mechanics working within Formula 1, for the place where the ‘important’ people sit on the pitwall during a race. These people are fed with lots of key live performance information and are responsible for any major strategic decisions during a race – they don’t always get those decisions right …
