How do you display complex, detailed performance data in a way that is easy for anyone to quickly understand? The solution is covered by the subject of information design and results sometimes in an “inforgraphic”.
An information graphic or “infographic” is, according to Wikipedia (today!):
a graphic visual representation of information, data or knowledge
An example would be something like a tube map:
The term is fairly new to me but the concept not. The idea of presenting data in an intelligent way so that people get the message clearly and quickly is core to why Prat Perch exists – it’s our belief that competitive environments can benefit enormously from better information design approaches.
